Ibiza Beach Club is a 1000-seater restaurant serving a Balearic-inspired, signature 15-course meal. It consists of a buffet with an assortment of breads, a leafy green salad bar with various condiments and cold side dishes like pasta salad, potato salad etc. The 15-course grill items will be served directly to your table. Servers come out with skewers of meat and slice, or carve it at your table and transfer it to your plate. Nothing like watching all the juices ooze out.
There is currently an introductory price of PHP 2,500++ so catch it while you can.. An additional PHP 600++ will be charged for an unlimited serving of award-winning Manny O. Wines. That is of course a very special rate since Ibiza Beach Club and Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island, Cebu are both under the Manny O. Group. If not, a cocktail will do. Try the Ibiza sour, their signature cocktail.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to finish the 15-course meal since I had to leave for another event. But based on what I’ve tried, I’ll be sharing my favorites. We were given a sauces to pair with the meats like hummus, tzaziki, lemon aioli and pesto but I opted to try the meats without sauce so I could taste the real flavor.
My top five favorites from Ibiza Beach Club’s Balearic-inspired 15-course grill are:
The parrot fish was season well, it was very moist and not over cooked. It would have had more of this if I did not have 14 more courses to go. I didn’t have it with sauce but it maybe next time I’ll ask for some lemon butter, though that’s not on their usual list of sauces.
Do I really need to explain why this was one of my favorites? Haha! You can’t really go wrong with neither bacon nor tenderloin. You can see from the stare of The Pickiest Eater on the background that we were all too excited for this one.
Lamb is not something I can have every day. So every time it’s there, I always welcome it. The lamb chops were good, it was seasoned well and they had mint jelly to pair it with too. I’ve always had lamb with mint jelly but not all restaurants serve it that way. I was happy to see that they had some.
I had an event to go to and was not able to finish all 15 courses but I wouldn’t leave without trying the rib eye. It was the last one I had in fact. It was seasoned well and cooked to a medium doneness.
MOVENPICK CARAMELITA ICE CREAM
The caramelita flavor is THE BEST! It was sweet and creamy with little bits of caramel to chew on. One taste took me back to that time my grandpa would treat me to Movenpick ice cream every trip to Hongkong. I remember always getting the stracciatella flavor because I couldn’t pronounce it then. But now that I tasted this, I’m pretty sure I used to get this flavor too. I said I only wanted 1 spoon to taste since I was in a hurry but I ended up having half the scoop. I couldn’t stop! I sort of wished they had given it to me in a paper cup to go. Haha!
***Items I didn’t get to try were:
Ostrich Meat, buttery Rock Lobsters or Salmon, Tiger Prawns, Cuttlefish, Crispy Pork Belly, Beef Short Ribs, Leg of Lamb and Queen Pina.
*** Ala carte menu is also available but perhaps that should be for another trip.
