More Eating Than Riding at Universal Studios Hollywood

Every time my cousins and I are at Universal Studios Hollywood, we end up eating at Panda Express or something quick. We’re always in a hurry so we have more time to line up for the rides. It was different this time. I’ve been on all the rides before and all I really wanted to see was the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. That part of the park was still on dry run when I visited last year, so this trip was my first time to go.

My cousins couldn’t stop talking about Three Broomsticks. As soon as I arrived, this is all they could talk about. They seemed to have been planning this for weeks. The very next day, we were to have breakfast at Three Broomsticks. The were all hoping to order the traditional English breakfast with fresh scrambled eggs, sausage links, bacon, ham, baked beans, baked tomato, sautéed mushrooms and breakfast potatoes served with butter croissant and black pudding. Unfortunately, none of us woke up in time for breakfast. We arrived right before lunch. Three Broomsticks has tavern-like feel with English specialties on the menu.

First things first. Butter beer!

English ale cheese soup with a side salad.

Bangers and mash, grilled English sausage with creamy mashed potatoes, roasted tomatoes, sautéed onions and cabbage, minted peas and gravy.

Beef Sunday roast or a thick slice of prime rib with roasted russet potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, buttered vegetables and gravy.

Sautéed jumbo asparagus platter with creamy mashed potatoes, cabbage and minted peas, garnished with a roast plum tomatoes.

Lamb and beef Guiness stew served in a bread bowl

Butterbeer potted cream. What is this sorcery?!

After that, we went for a round of Duff beer because…. Why not!? We’re only together once a year at most so we always make the most of it.

While I went with the boys to Moe’s for some beer, the girls went to Lard Lad Donuts to line up for the famous THE BIG PINK. Which is a giant pink frosted donut with sprinkles.

We took turns carrying the donut throughout the day. But ended up finishing it right before we went into the our last attraction of the day, the Walking Dead maze. I was peer pressured by my youngest cousin, Cammy. So we ended up stress eating. I do not like zombies, at all. So I was in between the two boys, they were my guides for the entire maze. My eyes were closed and I was just screaming the entire time. Hahahaha!!! I pretty much didn’t see anything the entire time. Hahaha!!! True enough, after that stressful attraction, we had an early dinner at Dongpo Kitchen, located at the Universal City Walk before heading home.
