Heart2Heart turns 10!

Nowadays, it’s so easy for people to start their own blogs. But I think the hardest part is keeping it and growing your audience. Rica de Jesus of Heart2Heart has not only grown her audience, but she has also posted consistently with new content to share for the past 10 years! What an accomplishment!

Rica asked me to meet her some time last year. That was when she first told me about her 10th year anniversary plans. She said she was going to have just a small celebration. She mentioned that she would be giving out Heart2Heart cards, which will extend exclusive discounts to card holders. Now, who doesn’t like discounts and freebies?! The event was held last January 25 at the ground floor of Rustan’s Makati, where Rica’s favorite beauty and wellness brands showcased their items. Demos for Breville and Hurom juicers, Vitamix blenders, and even Ecomom sterilizers @ecomomph were on display.

I sponsored a La Petite Fromagerie @lapetitefromagerie Raclette buffet, while The Plaza sponsored carved on the spot Smoked Tanguingue with dill mustard sauce. Aside from that, The Plaza also catered the event. I tried to keep the menu in theme and tried to serve everything with hearts.

For appetizers, we prepared mushroom pate with heart-shaped melba toasts.

Chicken tagine with chickpeas, bell peppers and zucchini served in roasted zucchini cups

Though I don’t have photos, we also served three bean tuna pasta salad, which was served in martini glasses. We also served spinach and mushroom puffs, flaky puff pastry stuffed with creamed spinach and mushroom.

For a sweet snack, Rica also sent us some heart-shaped cookies for us to serve during the event.

La Petite Fromagerie’s Cheese Buffet serving melted raclette over marble potatoes, pickled white onions, and cornichons. Also served at the buffet are brie bridel and gouda cubes with dried cranberries, figs and apricots and walnuts and almonds. Best served with a drizzle of truffle honey on assorted crackers and home made crostinis.

All Rica wanted for her blog’s anniversary is to be Oprah for a day. Before the event ended, she had a surprise for all her attendees. She had put together a bunch of her favorite things and wrapped them up for everyone. True enough, she personally handed out Rustan’s wrapped boxes for EVERYONE who attended her event. What a way to celebrate!!
