Last Thursday, I had the privilege to catch the preview show of Repertory Philippines’ Run For Your Wife at OnStage Theater in Greenbelt 1. My friend, Janine Tolentino was able to get us tickets to the show.
As usual, I walked into the theater not knowing what I was getting into. I didn’t even ask what the show was about. 1 minute in the show and I was captivated. Mikkie Bradshaw and Goldie Soon were totally in sync in their first scene. I won’t go further as I don’t want to spoil it but it got to a point where there was absolute silence on stage and I was still laughing away. Pulling off something like that is difficult with everything going on at the same time. Remembering their cues and blocking are very crucial to the storyline and it was so entertaining to watch. It will definitely lift your spirits after a long day.
The heart-stopping, feet-stomping hilariously fun show left the audience in exhilaration.
The story is about a London cab driver named John Smith. He lives two lives, with two wives in separate addresses and has a precise schedule for juggling both. John Smith is played by Jamie Wilson, with Mikkie Bradshaw and Goldie Soon as his wives. Also in the cast are Jeremy Domingo, Paul Holme, James Stacey, Steven Conde & Mara Javier.
